Summary of Goals and Objectives

The long-term vision of my research is to reveal errors hiding in RNA and understand their pathophysiological impact on tumorigenesis. The goal of this proposal is to investigate the functional significance of aberrant RNA isoforms generated by alternative cleavage and polyadenylation (APA) occurring in 3' untranslated region (3'UTR), discover altered RNA isoforms generated by intronic polyadenylation (IPA, a class of APA), and decipher mechanisms underlying IPA formation in cancer.
