He has a longstanding commitment to translational and patient-focused research, including being twice awarded HHMI Fellowships during his undergraduate training at Johns Hopkins University and completing his M.D./Ph.D. at New York University School of Medicine where his thesis work on angiogenesis was published in Developmental Cell.
